let this be a lesson to me

There is a lesson here somewhere.

After all my complaining about evil motorists (myself excepted) and the dangers of not having bike paths, guess who had a bike accident of his own making — on a bike path.

There I was happily riding along on de Maisonneuve Blvd. on Friday after work. I had just passed the intersection from hell heading west and was back on a city path.

“Hey, look at that,” I thought absent-mindedly, looking over to the right, “a couple of guys are taking bike parts out of the back of that van, in front of that bike shop”… when bang! I hit one of those @#$!@ green metal posts that line the path. I went flying (on to the path, not traffic, fortunately). When I picked myself up off the ground, I could hardly move my right leg, which had (I think) smashed into a handlebar gear shifter. I’m still in pain.

So, let that be a lesson to me.
